Central Business District

The Central Business District is the economic core of downtown Saint Paul, home to major employers, office towers, and the city’s skyway system. This area serves as a hub for business, government, and daily activity, with convenient access to transit and services. It anchors the region’s professional and commercial landscape while connecting seamlessly to surrounding districts.

Wacouta Commons

Wacouta Commons offers a quieter, more residential side of downtown Saint Paul—where city living is grounded in a strong sense of neighborhood. Centered around Wacouta Commons Park, this neighborhood feels like an urban village, with tree-lined paths, a neighborhood playground, and shared spaces that invite daily life outdoors.

Pedro Park

Centered around Pedro Park, this pocket of downtown Saint Paul blends urban convenience with a refreshing sense of neighborhood life. What was once an underutilized block has transformed into a lively, people-first destination—where morning dog walks, casual lunches, and evening events all converge in one shared green space.

Fitzgerald

The Fitzgerald neighborhood encompasses the city blocks bound by 7th, 11th, Jackson, and St. Peter Streets.This area blends historic architecture with state offices, public spaces, the Fitzgerald Theatre and the Children’s Museum of Minnesota, and access to major transportation corridors. It plays a vital role in connecting downtown to the Capitol complex and surrounding neighborhoods.

Rice Park

Centered around the iconic Rice Park, this district is the cultural heart of downtown Saint Paul, surrounded by historic landmarks, stunning architecture, sports and arts venues, and public gathering spaces. Home to iconic events like the Winter Carnival, it offers a vibrant mix of culture, entertainment, and scenic beauty. The area is a destination for both residents and visitors seeking arts, history, and community connection.

West 7th

Stretching along historic West 7th Street, this district is known for its rich heritage, local character, and lively mix of restaurants, breweries, and small businesses. Following one of Saint Paul’s oldest routes along the Mississippi River, West 7th blends historic charm with a growing entertainment and dining scene. It serves as a key gateway between downtown and the airport, with strong neighborhood identity and connectivity.

Lowertown

Lowertown is a historic warehouse district turned vibrant arts and entertainment hub on the eastern edge of downtown Saint Paul. Known for its artist lofts, farmers market, CHS Field, and Union Depot, the area blends creative energy with residential growth and destination dining. It remains one of downtown’s most dynamic neighborhoods, with strong ties to culture, transit, and community.
