With an energy palpable from every seat in the hall, Gábor Takács-Nagy embraces the rich textures and contrast of Hungarian folk traditions found in music spanning centuries. With moments of surprise in every other phrase, this SPCO Artistic Partner brings out a beautiful push and pull between light and gritty themes that bounce around each section of the orchestra. As a founding member of the famed Takács String Quartet who has dedicated decades of his life to this art form, he shares a keen understanding of the intimacy that makes chamber music so special, highlighting moments that might otherwise get overlooked and inviting you to notice.

Performances of in eternal dusk are supported by The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program, an initiative of the League of American Orchestras, in partnership with the American Composers Orchestra (ACO) and supported by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation. The program seeks to increase the programming of works by women and nonbinary composers on orchestra stages.

We are deeply grateful for a generous bequest from the Robinson Family that helped make this performance possible.
