Calendula Gallery is thrilled to unveil a dynamic solo exhibition by Ethan Edvenson, whose mixed‑media drawings crackle with energy, emotion, and a sense of raw, unfiltered humanity. Built from layered paper and brought to life with India ink, colored pencil, and chalk pastel, his pieces burst beyond traditional borders—literally. Each work features cut, shaped, and sculpted edges that interact with one another, forming immersive, organic installations that feel like stepping into someone’s inner universe mid‑thought.
In Dwelling Under Polaris, Edvenson’s characters wander through landscapes of symbols, gestures, and surreal visual cues, revealing their inner worlds through posture, movement, and quiet moments of humor. The work champions individuality, transformation, and the messy brilliance of being human—embracing honesty over perfection, emotional truth over polish. The result is an exhibition that feels intimate, fearless, and vibrantly alive, like paging through a personal journal that’s been set free on the walls.
